Brown Snake Black Diamond Pattern. Blotches usually refer to patterns with no symmetry. However some individuals are an un-patterned ebony black or dark grey.
Males have small raised bumps papillae under the chin. The tail has black and white bands just above the rattles. The pattern dark blotches on the pine snake often have smoother almost blurred edges towards the tail while the Black Rat Snake pattern remains a rugged outline.
