Are Real Diamonds Ever Set In Sterling Silver. I ask because I recently came across a mans ring from about the 40s or 50s and it is marked 130 14K RGP. Hi I would like to ask your opinion about having my 10ct diamond set in a rodium plated sterling silver setting.

If you see 10k 14k or 18k that means gold. Platinum rings will usually have Plat or Pt marked on them. If the stone is set in gold or platinum chances are that its a precious gemstone. A designer piece like David Yurman John Hardy Lagos etc is likely to have real diamonds but cheap silver will likely have diamond.
