As you can see in the chart below lab-created diamonds are formed with the same chemical composition as mined diamonds carbon arranged in an isometric crystal formation. Lab-grown diamonds are made of carbon lattices. It is created synthetically and is usually colorless and relatively flawless. In fact a cubic zirconia contains zero carbon whereas diamonds mined and grown are made entirely from carbon.
